Hope everyone had a good Father's Day. I sang the special at church and made sure it was one of Dad's favorite songs. I know he enjoyed it. I had gone shopping and purchased a couple of shirts for him from everyone. He will look great in them. Mom really liked them.
I can't believe that 28 years have gone by with my real Daddy in heaven. That is a long time. Some times I can't remember what he looked like or sounded like. Of course, I can look at my brother and see daddy daily. Way to go, Bub. Speaking of brothers, I gave him something special yesterday too. He does a lot for our family and helps with my kids. He is a great brother.
My suggestion to those of you who have your dad here with you -- tell them often how much you love them, call often and give out those hugs and kisses. If you have fallen away from your dad or parents, make it right ASAP. You never know what God has planned for tomorrow. I can assure you that we did not expect to tell Daddy good night on Wednesday, have him go off to work and then never come home. We children never get to big to give out loves, hugs and kisses to our mommas and daddys. Do that today!

Mondays
It is Monday again. How does the time go so fast? I so enjoy my days off, but they just fly by. My internet didn't work much this weekend so I didn't get to post to much. VBS is over and went well. We had 36 kids saved during VBS. That is wonderful. I was tired by Friday night and glad it was done. I will miss not being with everyone tonight though. It has been a slow day at work. I wish the phone would ring more with new enrollments. By the way, I want to congratulate my cousin, Gretchen, on her new baby boy. Caleb is adorable.

Dentist
Took kids to dentist today. First time since Caroline was 2. I know that is a pretty bad mom. Well, I will be paying lots of money to the dentist for a while. They both have a few cavities and need x rays. Other than that went pretty good. How do you get the kids to brush better? Mine brush regularly, but it seems to not be enough. Oh well, hopes this will help their permanent teeth.

Surprises
I love surprises. However, when one of my kids say they have a surprise for me I know something is up. Well, AJ (who has been grounded for a while) told me at VBS last night that he had a couple of surprises for me when I get home. My kitchen was completely cleaned and dishwasher emptied. He had Caroline help straighten up the living room. Now mind you, it is not completely clean, but looks very nice. He took all the dirty laundry and towels downstairs and folded what needed to be folded. He is trying to work some magic on mom. Well, he did his phone back. He had been without it for 1 week and if you have a teenager that is like a year without texting.

Gratituesday hosted by HeavenlyhHomemakers.com
You can get more information at HeavenlyHomemakers.com.
I saw this on my cousin's blog and thought I would join in. We should be grateful every day, but we do forget. Today, I am grateful that my parents are able to help me in Bible School. Working in the kitchen isn't an easy job, but we have fun. It is good to be able to work with them and work as a team. We had lots of fun!
I am thankful for my family. We have our trouble times, but they are my family/kids. Each one is different and has to be handled different. Caroline told me last night that she wasn't leaving home (I forget what we were talking about) and I laughed. I told her she would when she gets older. "Oh yea" she said. Of course, I have to be thankful for my brother who puts a roof over our head every month. He stretches wherever he can to make sure he gets the rent paid. How many brothers do you know that would be living with their sister and 3 kids? Not too many. A big hug goes out to Eric!

VBS
Had a good night of VBS. We had plenty of food for the workers. It is always a concern that we might run out of food, but we never do. Everyone enjoyed the fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

Children
I have been experiencing some real difficulties with my middle son. I never imagined that I would be going through these hard times. he just turned 17 and thinks that I should take my hands off. What kind of mother would I be if I did that. I can just imagine my mom telling her mom that she wanted control of her own life. Well, I might not have my mom. I'm not sure where to go from here. I've grounded him pretty much the whole summer (and yes it is that bad), but I'm not sure that will even help. He doesn't even talk to me. His dad leaves him with me instead of taking him on the scheduled days because he doesn't want to deal with it. Go figure. I am just hoping that things will change. Lots of people are praying for him.
